The soul of a community lies in its Clubs & Non-Profit Organizations, where people gather to pursue their interests, support a good cause, or bring zest and culture to daily life. Oak Park and River Forest are villages rich in community spirit, with many volunteer organizations, clubs and charitable causes. Listed at left are the non-profit organizations on the web in our villages. Now for your convenience, we also provide a listing of all membership forms and volunteer information and listing of all online calendars for these groups.

The Wednesday Journal Answer Book and the Oak Leaves Weekly Events Calendar give more extensive listings of the Clubs & Organizations.

Oak Park is the hometown of a number of famous and exceptionally accomplished people. Today, our village remains home to a highly educated, activist group of citizens from all aspects of professional life. You can sample the interests of our cybercitizens via their homepages on the web.

Oak Park has a long history of being an activist community - the Historical Society of OPRF has wonderful records of our growth as a community, and the History of Oak Park discusses our communty's beginnings and growth.
