Due to a high demand on ticket sales for the previous
"Welcome to the Neighbor Hood" tour, the Historical Society has
planned TWO more tour dates. The dates are September 24 and
October 8. Noted historian and author of
The Chicago Outfit, River Forest resident John Binder will serve
as your tour guide as we travel by trolley through the neighborhoods
of Oak Park and River Forest visiting the homes of the leaders of
Chicago organized crime who once called the idyllic western suburbs
their home. Price for this two-hour tour is $35 for
non-members of the Historical Society and $25 for members.
Seating is limited to 30 passengers per tour time
and reservations must be made in advance requesting specific time-10:30 am; 1:00 pm; or
4:00 pm. Tickets go on sale August 21 at 9 am. Payment
is required at time of reservation and we accept
cash, check, or Visa, Master Card, and Discover. Please make
checks payable to The Historical Society of OPRF.
Trolley leaves promptly from Pleasant Home, 217 Home
Home Ave. Oak Park. You must arrive at least 15 minutes before
tour time to guarantee that your seating reservation will not be
given away. There are no rain dates.
