| The Park is named after Arthur D. Rehm, one of the original Park District commissioners and the second president of the Park District. Known for many years as South Park or South Common, Rehm was one of the three original parks purchased in 1912, the year the Park District was organized. The purchase price was $27,940. | The Park today is popular for the wonderful Rehm Pool on the grounds; as a community soccer field; for its superb childrens' playground; the two accessible tennis courts; and of course, as the source of the annoying "Wailing Siren" every Tuesday morning. |
