Lindberg Park is named after Gustav Lindberg, the first Superintendent of
Parks, who began work for the Park District in 1913, the
year after the Park District was formed.
The 15.9 acre park was purchased in 1925.
The area had been used for many years as a refuse dump.
Today, the park is popular for soccer and softball games, and in the early mornings the mist often sits over the playing fields, making for a beautiful effect.
