ARTS IN CYBERPARK
BALLET & DANCE

The rich History of Oak Park continues to surprise; in addition to being the home of the founders of Prairie style architecture (F. L. Wright), a literary form (Ernest Hemingway), modern clinical psychotherapy (Carl Rogers), the inventor of the birth-control pill (Percy L. Julian), the modern TV sitcom (Bob Newhart), it was also the home town of Doris Batcheller Humphrey, one of the founders of modern dance!

The dance tradition of Doris Humphrey lives on with the Doris Humphrey Society, founded in 1988 at the Academy of Movement and Music, and the many choices of ballet and dance instruction offered.
