This warm, moist room is crowned by a massive fiddle-leafed fig whose trunk supports a large climbing aroid. On the north, the perimenter bed contains anthuriums from Hawaii and South America and a collection of Dieffenbachia (dumb cane) and a Canary date palm; on the west, a stone seat under an areca palm arbor; on the south, tropical climbers of all kinds and a collection of tropical economic plants including papaya, coffee and cacao; and on the east, a gurgling waterfall capped by a butterfly palm and a bunya-bunya tree. The center lagoon is filled with fish and is traversed by a rustic bridge. Surrounding are numerous cycads, banana plants and lady, fishtail, areca and Chinese fan palms.
