Don't be surprised if it is cool: deserts are cool at night and sharp temperature
variations play a significant role in flowering. here you will find collections
of succulents, including agaves, aloes and crassulas (jade plants); succulent
euphorbias; and cacti, including prickly pear species, mammilaria species and
echinopsis. Many cacti have fantastic and delicate blooms forming a blaze of colors
from March to May. In 1987, after 30 years of growth, and agave bloomed and literally
went through the roof. At the base of the west wall is a Biblical garden. Nearby is the curiosity
corner with plants to touch and smell, a display appealing to all ages.
