FEBRUARY 29, 1996 MINUTES

Beaucoup de thanks to Mary Ann Gini for all her efforts - organizing, inviting and even arranging for the coffee and munchies!

Special thanks to Minou Cafe & Bakery, Brothers' Gourmet Coffee, Westgate Florist, Einste!n Bros.' Bagels and the Lathrop House for donating the goodies and flowers for the evening.

What Happened

• Don Vogel opened the evening with discussions about what's happening at the OPRF High School.
• Some of the new people told of their interests - for example, Steve from Purple Monkey Studios was there.
• Sharon Carr, Trainer from Education Networking Consortium, described the teacher training programs through Argonne National Laboratory.
• Steve Hurder discussed the article Our Village on the Internet summarizing past and recent activities concerning Oak Park on the Internet.
• Rosemary Jacot, District 97 Technology Coordinator, a talked about District 97's explosion of activity in the last 6 months, getting their Curriculum Guide and many other information resources posted on the web, and about the Teacher Training courses offered this winter.

The group then went up to the new Computer Lab at OPRF High School for demonstrations of the various sites.

Jim Ritter from the Chicago Sun Times interviewed many of the participants during the course of the evening.
