St. Patrick's Day is another holiday where postcards were sent to loved ones by the thousands. This particular postcard was designed in 1912 by noted artist Ellen Clapsaddle and depicts two people standing in front of a map of Ireland. Notice the slogan "Erin go Bragh," which means "Ireland Forever!" The saying on the bottom of the card reads: "She's not a poor nor cold land, No! She's a warm and bold land, Oh! She's a rich and old land, this native land of mine." Come and visit the Historical Society and the River Forest Public Library to view other St. Patrick's Day postcards. Both are ongoing exhibits highlighting various holidays
